Italian rising star Julia Ituma led Italy in a semifinal victory for the U18 FIVB World Championship finals against Russia. In the semifinals, Italy defeated the United States 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-22). Julia Ituma scored 23 points for Italy and was the top scorer of the match. Mckenna Wucherer with 15 points was the top scorer of the United States.
Earlier, European champions Russia qualified for the gold medal match by defeating Serbia 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-21) in their semifinal match. Alina Popova was the best scorer for Russia with 13 points, while Anastasia Kapralova and Varvara Sergeeva added 11 points each. Iva Šućurović with 9 points was the top scorer of Serbia.
