Italy Cruises Past Germany to Secure Quarterfinal Spot

Italy continued their flawless campaign at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship with a dominant 3-0 victory over Germany in the Round of 16. The win propels Italy to the quarterfinals. The match ended with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, and 25-11.

Led by Paola Egonu, who scored 21 points, Italy showcased their superior strength and cohesion throughout the match. Stella Nervini contributed 11 points, and Sarah Fahr added 10, as Italy’s balanced offense overwhelmed Germany in all three sets. The Italian team, under the guidance of coach Julio Velasco, stayed focused and disciplined, especially after a close first set.
