The Philippines has officially been named host of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2029, marking the first time the country will stage the sport’s premier women’s event. The announcement came just before the Men’s World Championship 2025 final in Manila, confirming the nation’s growing role in global volleyball.
The Philippines earned praise this year for successfully delivering the Men’s Championship, showcasing strong organization, passionate fans, and warm hospitality. FIVB President Fabio Azevedo said the 2029 edition will again highlight volleyball’s power to unite communities and inspire new generations.
Leaders from Volleyball World and the Asian Volleyball Confederation echoed the commitment to build on the 2025 momentum, promising a “spectacular” event that leaves a lasting legacy for Philippine sports and tourism.
The Women’s World Championship will follow the 2027 edition in the USA and Canada, while Qatar prepares to host the Men’s 2029 competition.
