Savino Del Bene Scandicci clinched a spot in the semifinals of the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship sweeping host club Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde 3-0 and completing their second win in Pool A.

Playing in front of a lively Brzilian crowd, the Italian team kept its composure through match and win 31-29, 25-22, 25-15. The result leaves Scandicci atop the group with six points and no sets dropped, ensuring they can’t be overtaken ahead of final round of pool play.
Outside hitter Avery Skinner with 22 points, while Italian opposite Ekaterina Antropova added 21 for Scandicci. Osasco were carried by opposite Bianca Cugno, who finished with a match-high 27 points, Caitie Bard added 10.
In Pool B action, the Orlando Valkyries earned their first Club World Championship victory, defeating Egypt’s Zamalek Giza 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 26-24). The Valkyries overpowered Zamalek at the net with 58 kills to 28. Opposite Naya Shime added 13 points, while middle blockers Natalie Foster and Kazmiere Brown chipped in 11 and 10. Zamalek stayed close thanks to fewer errors and five team blocks. Toqaallah Eassa led the Egyptians with 11 points.
