Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia began their FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship campaign with a dominant 3–0 victory over Libya’s Swehly Sports Club.

Playing at Mangueirinho Arena, the Italian side controlled the Pool B match throughout, winning 25–10, 25–14, 25–18 to collect their first three points of the tournament. Tunisian opposite Wassim Ben Tara led Perugia with 10 points. Swehly, making their tournament debut, were paced by Mohamed Garwas with nine points. The win left Perugia level atop Pool B with Japan’s Osaka Bluteon, who earlier swept defending champions Sada Cruzeiro.
In Group A action, Brazil’s Praia Clube also opened with a straight-sets victory, defeating Al Rayyan SC of Qatar 25–17, 25–21, 25–21. Veteran opposite Franco Paese led the hosts with 17 points.
