VNL W: Brazil Beats Netherlands

Brazil kicked off their Women’s Volleyball Nations League campaign with a 3-1 victory over the Netherlands by winning 25-17, 25-15, 25-27, 25-23.

Brzil dominated early thanks to a powerful serving display. Julia Kudiess led the way with four aces as Brazil finished with seven serve points overall. The middle blocker also starred at the net, recording eight blocks and helping Brazil total 13 block points.

After cruising through the opening two sets, Brazil faced a tougher challenge in the third. A power outage halted play for more than eight minutes with the home side leading 22-21. The interruption helped shift momentum, and the Netherlands eventually edged the set 27-25 after a dramatic finish involving multiple video reviews.

Brazil responded in the fourth set, overcoming a mid-frame deficit before mounting a comeback and rallying to secure the win.

Julia Bergmann led all scorers with 24 points, while Tainara Santos added 21. Julia Kudiess completed an outstanding all-around performance with 20 points as Brazil opened their VNL season on a winning note.

For the Netherlands, Helena Kok was the top scorer with 13 points, while Britte Stuut and Elles Dambrink each added 9 points.
