VNL W: Poland Stay Unbeaten

Poland became the first team to reach three wins in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League after overcoming Serbia in a five-set match in Nanjing. The Polish side secured a 3-2 victory, improving to three wins from three matches and moving to the top of the standings.

Opposite Julia Szczurowska was the standout performer, scoring 35 points, including 30 kills, four aces and one block. It is the highest individual scoring performance recorded in the competition so far this season. Julita Piasecka added 17 points for Poland, while Serbia’s Aleksandra Uzelac led her team with 25 points.

In other match in Nanjing, Czechia defeated Belgium in straight sets to claim its second win of the tournament.

In Brasília, Bulgaria swept the Dominican Republic 3-0 behind a 21-point performance from Mikaela Stoyanova. Defending champions Italy also remained in strong form, defeating the Netherlands in straight sets, with Merit Adigwe contributing 18 points.

In Québec City, Japan continued their unbeaten start with a 3-1 win over Ukraine, led by captain Mayu Ishikawa’s 22 points. The United States later edged France in a five-set battle, with Simone Wank and Stephanie Samedy combining for 44 points in the American victory.
