VNL W: Türkiye Beat Poland in Osaka

Türkiye defeated Poland 3-1 in the opening match of the third week of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League in Osaka, Japan.

Türkiye took a tight first set 27-25 before Poland responded with a 25-20 win in the second. The Turkish side regained control after the interval, winning the third and fourth sets 25-19 to secure its seventh victory of the campaign and sixth in a row.

Melissa Vargas led Turkey with 23 points, while Ilkin Aydin added 14. Hande Baladin and Zehra Gunes each scored 10 points.

Julita Piasecka was Poland’s leading scorer with 14 points. Magdalena Stysiak contributed 12, while Anna Obiala finished with 10.

Poland, coached by Stefano Lavarini, suffered its third defeat in nine VNL matches. The team will face the United States, Brazil and Japan in its remaining matches in Osaka.

Result: Poland 1-3 Turkey (25-27, 25-20, 19-25, 19-25)
