VNL W: Poland Hold Off USA in Osaka Marathon

Poland survived a demanding five-set contest against the United States in Osaka, securing a valuable Volleyball Nations League win and moving closer to the 2026 Finals in Macau.

Stefano Lavarini’s side recovered from a first-set loss, took control through the middle of the match, and then stayed composed when the Americans forced a deciding set.

Magdalena Stysiak delivered the standout performance with 34 points, while Julita Piasecka added 25. Poland’s attacking edge made the difference, as the team registered 75 kills compared with 63 for the United States.

The U.S. were more effective in blocking, winning that battle 16-8, and also held a narrow advantage in aces. Simone Lee-Wank led the American scoring with 15 points. Molly McCage, Logan Eggleston and Stephanie Samedy each finished with 14.

Result: Poland 3-2 USA (20-25, 25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 15-12)
