Saint Raphael Var VB claimed on Sunday their first French Cup title in history after edging Nantes 3-1 to cap the Final Four tournament held in Mulhouse.
Definitely, it was a weekend filled with surprises! The day after their victory against the current leaders of the national league, Asptt Mulhouse in the semi-finals (3-1), Nantes VB lost the grand finale of the tournament 1-3 to Saint Raphael Var VB, who had previously eliminated SF PARIS Saint-Cloud (3-1).
The team from the French Riviera seized the first national cup title in their history – three years after becoming France’s national champions.

Saint Raphael – Nantes 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-10)
