In the semi-finals of the French Marmara SpikeLigue, the volleyball courts witnessed intense competition. In the first match, Tours narrowly defeated Chaumont in a hard-fought tie-break battle, winning with scores of 25-21, 19-25, 20-25, 25-22, and 15-12.
Aboubacar Dramé Neto of Tours showcased his skill with a game-high 22 points, outpacing Chaumont’s Victor Almeida Cardoso who scored 17 points. Despite the efforts of Niko Suihkonen and Patrick Gasman, who added 15 and 13 points respectively, Chaumont could not secure a win. Tours, the defending champions, now have a chance to reach the finals again if they win at their home court in next encounter.
In another match, underdog Saint-Nazaire continued their surprising run by defeating Tourcoing 3-1, with set scores of 25-22, 26-28, 14-25, and 22-25. Despite Pablo Kukartsev of Tourcoing leading all scorers with 23 points, Saint-Nazaire’s combined efforts from Kyle Ensing, Jordan Ewert, and Helder Spencer, who scored 17, 14, and 13 points respectively, propelled them to victory. Saint-Nazaire aims to cement their success in their first semi-final appearance with another win in their home game on April 17.
