Round 5 of the Marmara Spike League kicked off with three matches. Newcomers Cannes stunned Nice with a straight-sets victory (3-0), winning 30-28, 25-20, 25-22. Reda Haikal led Cannes with 15 points, while Simon Hirsch’s 22 points weren’t enough to save Nice.
Montpellier also swept Chaumont 3-0, with Tomas Lopez scoring 16 points, keeping Montpellier on top of the standings.
In a dramatic comeback, Saint Nazaire rallied from 0-2 to defeat Narbonne 3-2, with Henri Leon starring with 31 points. Round 5 concludes today with three more games.
