“It has been 19 years since my first final and now I have a lot more wrinkles,” said the long-time coach of the team Magali Magail “I just feel relieved because after failing so many times, I thought that this moment of glory and joy would never come!”
“I am especially pleased with the way we played in the fourth set: with their back against the wall, my players performed a lot better – they found back the right attitude and a lot more self-confidence and this is when I realised that we could go all the way to the victory,” Magail continued.
“After so many losses in the finals, of course I started questioning myself but on the other hand, RC CANNES have been so dominant for so many years that I thought we had made it to the top at the wrong moment. However, we could not lose this final – I said to myself: if we lose this one, I’ll have to stop coaching.”
