FRA M: New change at the top – Tours leading race for No.1

Tours Volley-Ball scored a valuable victory in the 2017/18 French men’s volleyball championship Ligue A.

Tours Volley-Ball came back to the top of the standings as they beat GFC Ajaccio Volley-Ball by a 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20) in the last game of Round 20.

The Latvian opposite Hermans Egleskalns topped Tours with 25 points (3 kill blocks). The Bulgarian Svetoslav Gotsev added 4 kill blocks. The Argentinean international José Luis González scored 13 points for the losing side, while Serbian Dejan Radić made 73% attack (8/13, blocked once) and Thiebault Bruckert recorded 4 kill blocks.

There are two more rounds until the end of the regular stage with three teams having practically equal chances to secure the top-seed for the playoffs: Tours (14-6; 43 points), Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 Haute-Marne (15-5; 42 points), and Paris Volley (14-6; 42 points), respectively.
