The German female volleyball player Denise Hanke ended her professional career.

The Germany National Team member, for which she collected 240 caps, Denise Hanke, ended her professional career.

The 30-year-old setter was the German club champion six times and the German Cup and Super Cup winner three times each. Wearing the jersey of Germany Woman, she was close to becoming the European champion in 2013 (lost to Russia in the final). Individually, Hanke was awarded MVP of the German league on two occasions.

She has been a member of SSC Palmberg Schwerin in the past five years, being named the captain during that time.
