The match, important for both teams, came in the wake of contrasting performances against Berlin Recycling Volleys. While Friedrichshafen had recently faced a 0-3 defeat, Giesen had secured a surprising victory. The game started on an equal footing until Michal Superlak’s remarkable performance from the serve line tipped the scales. Tim Peter’s exceptional attack rate also played a important role in the victory.

Giesen’s chances seemed brighter at the onset of the second set, leveraging mistakes from VfB. However, the tide turned once again in the subsequent sets, with Friedrichshafen’s high-risk serve and strong defense paying off.

The final set saw VfB Friedrichshafen dominating, with Superlak, later crowned MVP.

In other league matches, VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen fell to BR Volleys, ASV Dachau was defeated by Baden Volleys SSC Karlsruhe, WWK Volleys Herrsching triumphed over Energiequelle Netzhoppers KW, and FT 1844 Freiburg lost to SWD powervolleys Düren. In the last match of the weekend TSV Haching München lost against Helios Grizzlys Giesen 0-3.
