Dresden moved up to third place in the Bundesliga after a straight-sets victory over Borken, setting the stage for a German Cup semifinal against VfB Suhl later this week.

Head coach Alexander Waibl said his team managed the match well despite stretches of uneven play. “We made things harder on ourselves with some simple errors, but in key moments we showed control and quality,” he said. Waibl used nearly his full roster throughout the match.
Emma Grome earned the MVP award. Dresden was led offensively by Mette Pfeffer with 12 points, while Florentine Rosemann added 10.
After taking a close first set, Dresden erased an early deficit in the second and pulled ahead for a 2–0 lead behind improved blocking. The visitors broke the third set open midway through, and Miku Akimoto closed out the match on the second match point, securing the sweep in 70 minutes.
