GER M: Berlin Edge Closer to Title with Second Finals Win

Berlin Recycling Volleys are within one win of another Bundesliga title after defeating SVG Lüneburg 3–1 to take a 2–0 lead in the playoff finals.

In front of 6,311 fans at Max-Schmeling-Halle, the defending champions rebounded from a slow start to claim victory in 1 hour and 56 minutes.

BR Volleys finished with 70 total points compared to Lüneburg’s 66, alongside a +31 efficiency margin, highlighting their superiority in decisive rallies. Jake Hanes led all scorers with 30 points, delivering 27 kills at a 63% success rate.

At the net, Berlin created a clear advantage, recording 12 blocks to Lüneburg’s 7, with Florian Krage-Brewitz contributing 5 blocks and 13 points. Defensively, libero Kyle Dagostino anchored reception with an 86% positive rate, helping Berlin edge the overall reception battle (66% to 62%).

After losing the first set 22–25, Berlin responded with improved attacking output and stronger serving pressure, taking the next three sets 25–22, 25–23 and 25–23. Lüneburg, led by Daniel Gruvaeus (18 points), remained competitive but fell short in key moments, particularly in break-point conversion (24–21).

The series now shifts to Lüneburg, where Berlin can secure the championship with one more victory.
