The guests from North Rhine-Westphalia, currently fourth in Bundesliga, got off to the better start, but in the second and third set, the team coached by Stefan Hübner played like in a frenzy.

Although, Düren answered by winning the fourth set, the cheers of the audience, at the sold out Gellersenhalle, led Bundesliga newcomer, Lüneburg, to a victory in the decisive fifth set 15-10.

Lüneburg’s opponent in the finals on March 1, 2015, will be the twelve times Cup winner, VfB Friedrichshafen. It beat TV Ingersoll Bühl with 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22).

The Cup holders showed a superior performance. The players of a successful coach Stelian Moculescu initially had some trouble finding the rhythm.

Bühl brought some uncertainty again in the third set and reduced the score in sets to 1-2.

But in the fourth set, Friedrichshafen regained good reception and penetration in the attack, so its victory was not in danger any more.
