Luneburg
SVG Lüneburg shocked Berlin Recycling Volleys in Round 15 of 1. Bundesliga. The home side ran over defending champions by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-22), pushing them further away from claiming the top-seed before the playoffs. On the other hand, Lüneburg remained fifth-placed (top 6 teams will avoid playing playoffs from the first round) as they leveled with sixth-ranked Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching and seventh-ranked Volleyball Bisons Bühl, all having 23 points.
As for the match itself, a little experiment of BR Volleys coach Luke Reynolds, who left out Australian Paul Carroll and Canadian Steven Marshall from the lineup, did not work. The Canadian from Lüneburg, Ryan Sclater, scored game-high 25 points (3 kill blocks), while his teammate Michel Schlien made 83% attack (5/6, 9 points). There were no double-digit players in BR Volleys.
