GRE M: Ethnikos claims Greece’s U19 championship for third consecutive season

Ethnikos ALEXANDROPOULIS claimed Greece’s U19 championship for the third consecutive year after edging Panathinaikos ATHENS in straight sets in the final match. Anestis Dalakouras was awarded the trophy for the MVP.

With this result Ethnikos topped the charts of that competition for the fifth time in their history thereby extending their supremacy in this age group. Anestis Dalakouras was awarded the trophy for the MVP while another six individual awards were presented at the end of the tournament. Together with the players included on the roster of Iraklis THESSALONIKI and Olympiacos PIRAEUS – these sides lost in the semis – the young stars of Ethnikos and Panathinaikos shall guarantee a bright future for Volleyball in Greece.

In the bronze medal match, Iraklis THESSALONIKI – anchored by Giorgios Tzoumakas in attack – could best Olympiacos in straight sets to eventually settle for third place.
