Iraklis alone on top after beating Olympiakos

In the other games Iraklis Thessalonikis was the big winner of the round by managing to take a clear win in Athens against Olympiakos.

Iraklis won 1-3 (21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 26-28) having Ronaldo Despaigne and Nikos Smaragdis in a great day.

The same day PAOK easily won 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-21) over Panathinaikos in Thessaloniki.
 

Apostolos Armenakis, Kostas Girtzikis and Ivan Borovnjan were the stars of PAOK.

In Alexandroupoli the local team of Ethnikos won with the same score 3-0 the game against EAPatron. 

Finally in Vrahaxti the local team of Pamvohaikos succeeds to take the three points by winning 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16) the game against Aris Thessalonikis.

Except the usual suspect Mark Dusharme who scored 17 points Jernej Potoncnik was amazing scoring 16 points with 75% in excellent attacks and 2 blocks.

Iraklis Thessalonikis backed up its chances to advance to the Playoffs 12 of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League by winning 3-1 against CSKA Sofia. 

After the game the coach Sotiris Drikos stated “We claimed a very important game and we now have the last match with Noliko MAASEIK next week.

Our target was to remain in contention for a ticket to the Playoffs 12 until the very end and I want to congratulate my players for achieving this goal
