A 29-year-old Mitar Djurić has joined last season’s Greek championship Volleyleague runners-up and also cup winners P.A.O.K., the Thessaloniki club announced.
The Bosnian-born player, who gained Greek citizenship decade ago and is now the country’s national team captain playing under the name Dimitris Tzourits, spent the previous two seasons wearing the jersey of Italian SuperLega side Calzedonia Verona for which he averaged 31% attack.
The last time he competed in the Greek league was 7 years ago. In the period thereafter, Djurić mostly played in Italy and a bit in Turkey and South Korea. The opposite, who can also cover the middle blocker position, has 17 titles on his account: 3 Greek championships, 2 Greek cups and 1 Greek Super cup, 2 Italian championships, 2 Italian cups and 2 Italian Supercups, 1 Turkish championship, 1 Turkish cup and 1 Turkish Super cup, and 2 FIVB Club World Championships.
