Just like in the Super Cup final in November and in the last year’s playoff semifinals, Perugia surpassed Modena: 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 25-19) in Round 12 of the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season. With this win in the big match at home in front of the packed stands (nearly 4,000 spectators), Perugia closed the first half of the season in the league and will start playing the other half as vice-leaders in the charts, having 10-2 and 28 points and seven victories in a row. Cuban-born Wilfredo León was truly inspiring this evening, pouring in 32 points of which 6 came from the service line. The Pole Bartosz Bednorz scored 21 points for Modena (5 aces) who are struggling lately. This was their second defeat in a row in the competition.
By sweeping Kioene Padova on the road, Cucine Lube Civitanova became champions of the first half of the season with an unbeaten run of 11 games and 32 points!
