Cucine Lube Civitanova have beaten all the rivals to finish the first half of the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season as the only undefeated team, having 12-0 and 35 points. Knowing that the Italian league is considered the strongest national club competition in the world, not suffering a single loss for the half of the season is quite a feat! This is a result that hasn’t been achieved in SuperLega since the 2010/11 season when Itas Trento, the team whom Lube defeated tonight in the postponed match of Round 10, had 13-0 after the half of the championship. Cuban-born Yoandy Leal top-scored for Lube with 15 points, while American Aaron Russell tallied 22 points for Trentino.
Leo Shoes Modena prevailed over Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia in Round 13 by a 3-1 to tie with second-placed Sir Safety Conad Perugia in the charts at 28 points, while Allianz Milano came in fourth after beating Calzedonia Verona in four sets on the road, skipping Trentino.
