Monza
In Round 2 of the eight-finals (Pool A) of the 2020/21 Del Monte Coppa Italia SuperLega, Vero Volley Monza beat NBV Verona by a 3-2 (25-16, 25-15, 22-25, 26-28, 15-8). Thus, once again, the team coached by Radostin Stoytchev disappointed its fans, not having a cure for a dashing performance of the Czech youngster Donovan Džavoronok (29 points) and blocking display of American Maxwell Holt (6 blocks).
In the same pool, Allianz Milano downed Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia (3-1).
Summer reinforcements of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza didn’t fit in well yet given that the side commanded by Andrea Gardini lost another match in Pool B, this time from Kioene Padova: 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 25-21). Slovenian Tonček Štern top-scored for Padova with 21 points. The Pole Wojciech Włodarczyk set up 4 blocks, while Argentinean Santiago Danani made 76 % reception (33 % perfect).
Consar Ravenna swept Top Volley Cisterna.
