Cucine Lube Civitanova repeated their 2020 conquest of the Italian Men’s Del Monte® Coppa Italia as they beat Sir Safety Conad Perugia by a 3-1 (25-17, 18-25, 25-17, 25-17) in the final in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna). The team commanded by Vital Heynen seemed to be the bad copy of the one that had trampled over Itas Trento in the semifinal yesterday.

Cuban-Brazilian Yoandy Leal and his former teammate in the Cuba National Team, Roberlandy Simón, both scored 17 points for the winning side. The latter included 8 blocks in his output and was awarded MVP of the gold medal encounter. Another player of Cuban origin, Wilfredo León, stood out in the match but for the silver medalists. He scored 21 points. The Dutchman Thijs Ter Horst set up 4 blocks.

It was the fourth successive Cup final between Lube and Perugia and Lube’s fifth successive alone. These two will face each other again in 3 days in a direct duel for winning the 2020/21 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season.
