In this match, Angelina Giulia scored a match-high 14 points including 10 kills for Italy, while Ana Valle emerged as the top scorer for Mexico after bagging seven points.

European powerhouses Italy, which have already lost two matches in their Pool D clash, fielded a strong roster including the two towers in Anna Danesi and Anna Nicoletti, both of them stand the similar 193cm tall. Also in the starting line-up was hard-attacking Angelina Giulia.

Italy played an attack game right from the beginning and performed superbly to clinch the comfortable first set 25-15.

Mexico tried to overcome the taller blockers with their spikes, but their intension was shortlived when Italy stormed on to win the second set with ease 25-12.

The third set was still dominated by Italy. The Italian defence was impenetrable which caused the smaller rivals difficulties to score. As expected, Italy snatched the easy set 25-17 and the match.
