The fifth set was tight (5-5) until Monza took a two-point lead at 9-7 but Macerata fought back, it was 9-9 then 11-11 on a magical play from the pair De Cecco – Conte. That’s when Monza got stuck. Ormcen led his team to 13-11, then an ace from Podrasscanin handed Macerata the first match point, converted by yet another block from Giuliani’s team.
