Perugia and Piacenza recorded routine victories without much trouble versus Cuneo and Citta Di Castello respectively. But real drama was in Macerata. Verona squad came out on court swinging, punching and fighting hard. And after two sets they led in Macerata by 0-2! Everything was falling apart for Lube. That criticism after National Cup, after Champions League, just threatened to rise again but giants woke up! They turned the game over and won by 3-2.
