The new reinforcements for the 2022–23 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship participants, Wash4Green Pinerolo, arrived from China.
Pinerolo, who’s fighting for survival in Serie A1 in 2022–23, signed the young opposite Miao Yiwen. The 22-year-old Chinese player spent her entire career in Sichuan, with whom she also played in the last Super League, which has been archived for a few weeks. In it, she appeared in only three games and scored 30+ points in each: 41 points against Henan (3-2), 32 against Yunnan (1-3), and 38 against Hebei (3-2). In the first of these matches, Yiwen made as many as 110 kills, which is probably the single-game world record.
Last year, she made her debut for the China National Team, competing in the FIVB VNL.
