The Regular Season of the Serie A1, the top-tier women’s volleyball league in Italy, has officially ended. The most thrilling moments came from Pinerolo, where the home team lost against Chieri but still managed to achieve an incredible salvation, thanks to the defeat of Perugia. Perugia relegates to A2 after suffering a 0-3 loss against Conegliano.
Chieri, also celebrates as they maintain their advantage over Novara with three points, who won the derby against Cuneo. Scandicci, the second-place team, also smiles with their derby win against Firenze, thanks to a tie-break. Milano secures the third spot in the league standings after defeating Busto Arsizio 3-0. Busto Arsizio slips to the eighth position due to Bergamo’s three-point victory against Casalmaggiore.
Vallefoglia makes an impressive leap, overtaking Firenze and Cuneo, to close the league at the 9th position. Macerata, unfortunately, says goodbye to A1 after losing at home against Vallefoglia.
The Playoff Scudetto quarter-finals are now set based on the results of the regular season. Conegliano will face Busto, Scandicci against Bergamo, Milano against Casalmaggiore, and Chieri against Novara. Meanwhile, the Playoff Challenge Cup initial pairings are Vallefoglia against Pinerolo and Firenze against Cuneo.
