After an intense battle that lasted five sets, Vero Volley Milano secured a place in the Italian Serie A1 Playoffs Final as the second team to do so.
Coach Gaspari’s team faced a strong comeback from Savino Del Bene Scandicci, who managed to level the score 2-2 after falling behind 0-2. However, Milan persevered and ultimately triumphed in the decisive tie-break. The team demonstrated their incredible defensive prowess, with every player performing exceptionally well, and Thompson leading the way with 28 points, earning her the MVP title. Despite Antropova’s impressive 27 points, Scandicci had to accept defeat, despite having had a remarkable season, as they lacked the energy needed to challenge their opponents in the end.
