In Game 4 of the Serie A1 Volleyball Playoff Finals, Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano showcased their dominance by securing a resounding 3-0 victory over Vero Volley Milano.
The highly anticipated match, held at the electrifying Arena di Monza, saw Conegliano regain the home advantage, setting the stage for an all-important Game 5 on their own turf at the Palaverde, scheduled for Monday, May 15th.
The outcome of the game was largely influenced by the exceptional performance of Isabelle Haak, who proved to be unstoppable. Haak, rightly awarded the match’s MVP, contributed a remarkable 23 points, with a formidable attack success rate of 51% and 3 crucial block points.
During the first half of the second set, Jordan Thompson was replaced by Magdalena Stysiak. Stysiak valiantly attempted to rally her team, emerging as Milano’s top scorer with 12 points. However, her efforts ultimately fell short as Conegliano clinched the set with a score of 20-25. Conegliano further established their dominance in the third set, sealing a commanding 17-25 victory.
Kathryn Plummer and Sarah Fahr also delivered commendable performances for Conegliano, contributing 11 points with an attack success rate of 52% and 10 points with an impressive 70% attack success rate, respectively. On the other hand, Milano’s Stysiak scored 12 points (48% attack), while Jordan Thompson, Myriam Sylla, and Jordan Larson each finished with 6 points.
With the series now tied, the decisive Game 5 will determine the champion of Italy for the 2022-23 season. The highly anticipated finale will take place at the Palaverde in Villorba, promising an exhilarating and thrilling conclusion to the playoffs.
