The first scheduled event is the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games, that will be held in Sofija from 8th to 13th May.
Mauro elected 15 sportsmen: Patriarca (Marmi Lanza Verona), De Marchi (Fidia Padova), Zaytsev, Sabbi, Boninfante and Maruotti (M. Roma Volley); Giovi (Energy Resources S. Guistino); Cester (Andreoli Latina); Rossini and Buti (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza); Mengozzi and Corvetta (CMC Ravenna); Rosso (Fidia Padova); Tamburo (Sir Safety Perugia). As Berruto has already announced during the press conference in Rome on March 29th, Giacomo Sintini will also join the national team.
