What a comeback by Sir Susa Scai Perugia! Down by two sets, the defending European champions roared back to defeat Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza 3–2 (25-20, 25-11, 21-25, 21-25, 8-15) in an electrifying SuperLega Credem Banca match.

Piacenza came out firing, controlling the game through Alessandro Bovolenta (21 points), Ramazan Efe Mandiraci (16), and José Miguel Gutierrez (13). Their aggressive start stunned Perugia, especially with a dominant second set that ended 25-11. But the visitors, guided by coach Angelo Lorenzetti, refused to fold.

A tactical switch brought in 18-year-old setter Bryan Argilagos, who gave Perugia fresh energy and rhythm. From there, Wassim Ben Tara (14 points), Kamil Semeniuk (10), and Sebastián Solé (9) took control. Perugia’s defense stiffened, their blocking improved, and the pressure shifted completely.

By the fourth set, momentum was all Perugia’s. They forced the tie-break and dominated it 15-8, sealing the win and staying unbeaten in the league. Statistically, Perugia led with 10 blocks to Piacenza’s 7 and recorded 4 aces to the hosts’ 5.

MVP honors went to Ben Tara, who capped the night with a clutch performance. With this win, Perugia climbs alongside Civitanova at 13 points, while Piacenza continues its hunt for a first home victory.
