ITA W: Egonu Leads Milano to Derby Win

In Vallefoglia, Megabox Ond. Savio Vallefoglia edged Wash4Green Monviso Volley in a thrilling five-set battle. MVP Erblira Bici led with 18 points and three aces, while Omoruyi added 14. Vallefoglia clawed back from behind to win the tie-break 15-12, overcoming Davyskiba’s strong 24-point effort for Monviso.

Volley Bergamo 1991 produced a statement victory on the road, sweeping Il Bisonte Firenze 3-0. Bergamo controlled every set, led by MVP Meli’s six blocks and 10 points. Kipp (18) and Cesé Montalvo (17) drove the attack, while Firenze struggled to keep up offensively.

There were also clean wins for Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri and Savino Del Bene Scandicci. Chieri, guided by MVP Van Aalen, defeated San Giovanni in Marignano, while Scandicci, led by Maja Ognjenovic, beat Cbf Balducci Hr Macerata with Antropova’s 16 points and solid all-around play.

The highlight came in the Lombardy derby, where Vero Volley Milano fought back to beat Eurotek Laica Uyba Busto Arsizio 3-1. After losing the first set, Milano responded in style behind captain Paola Egonu, who exploded for 29 points and earned MVP honors. With strong support from Lanier (16) and Piva (13), Milano turned the match around to claim another big win.
