Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza announced that Gianluca Galassi has successfully undergone surgery to remove a testicular tumor.
The procedure was carried out in Milan at the IEO – European Institute of Oncology by Dr. Gennaro Musi and was reported as fully successful. The club confirmed that its medical staff will closely follow Galassi’s post-operative recovery, with regular monitoring to assess his condition and recovery timeline.
In a message addressed directly to fans, Galassi thanked his teammates, coaching staff, and the club for their discretion during the past month. He explained that the diagnosis came early thanks to routine medical checks and highlighted the importance of prevention and early screening.
The Italian middle blocker said he will now undergo further tests to determine how soon he can return to competition, adding that his priority is to recover fully and get back on the court as soon as possible. He will continue his recovery at home with his family and expressed confidence about returning to play in the future.
