Verona kept its nerve in the tie-break to hand Trentino a rare home loss, a result that dropped the hosts from first place and tightened the standings among the contenders.

The door opened for Sir Susa Scai Perugia, which moved two points clear at the summit after a 3-1 victory over Valsa Group Modena. At home, Cucine Lube Civitanova continued its perfect run in front of its fans with a straight-sets win over Sonepar Padova, closing out tight moments late in each set.

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza strengthened its hold on fourth place with a 3-0 win against Vero Volley Monza, while Allianz Milano beat Cisterna Volley 3-1, leaning on a strong serving display.

The round began Saturday with a important result near the bottom of the table, as MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo swept Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina in a relegation battle.
