Perugia opened its SuperLega Credem Banca playoff run with a strong comeback, defeating Monza 3–1 in Game 1 of the Scudetto Quarterfinals at the Pala Barton Energy.

Monza started the match brightly, claiming the first set 25–21 thanks to the attacking duo of Diego Frascio, who led all scorers with 19 points, and Martin Atanasov, who added 18 points.
Perugia, however, found its rhythm from the second set onward. Led by captain Simone Giannelli, the home side improved its offensive efficiency and took control of the match.
Kamil Semeniuk delivered an excellent performance, scoring 17 points to earn MVP honors, while Wassim Ben Tara contributed 15 points. Oleh Plotnytskyi added 13, and Roberto Russo finished with 12, as Perugia won the final three sets comfortably to secure the victory.
With the result, Perugia takes a 1–0 lead in the best-of-five quarterfinal series.
