A true legend of Italian volleyball and a member of the famous Generation Phenomenon which dominated during the 90s stated that it is time for him to finish career.
“I think this is my last season. I am not 100% sure, because I know that only a couple of weeks after quitting I would want to come back. But, I would just have to resist. The physical difficulties make me think about retirement. To be honest, I did not even expect that I would play so much… I am 41 years old and I am surprised that I got this far. But, it is time to say goodbye” said Papi for Italian media.
Samuele Papi has won numerous trophies in his career, including 3 Champions Leagues, 6 Italian Championships, 2 gold medals at the World Championships…
