In front of 3,000 home fans, Italy beat Serbia 3-1 (25-23, 29-27, 22-25, 25-23). Led by amazing setter Simone Gianneli, superstar Ivan Zaytsev, who has done great job in reception (79%) and Luca Vettori, who contributed with stunning performance in the attack (21 points – 54%), Italian boys didn’t allow rival to play their usual style. Serbia couldn’t anything except to surrender.
But, we must admit, Serbian side fought hard until the very end, home team had a lot difficulties during the game. Luburic was the leader in Grbic’s side with 17 points, while U. Kovacevic added 15.
