The President of Italian men's volleyball champions and also recent Super Cup winners Azimut Modena, Catia Pedrini, stated several important sentences during the press conference that preceded the start of Serie A1 2016/2017.

First, Pedrini said that Modena want to organize the 2017 CEV Champions League Final Four.

“Taking all of the costs involved in organizing it, including taxes and hosting the CEV, it turns out to be 500 thousand euros. The Unipol Arena in Bologna would guarantee us the number of places needed,” Modena President explained how the money invested in organizing the F4 would return to the club.

In this way, the Italian champions would find themselves directly among the best four teams in Europe, without having a burden to qualify throughout pool stage and quarterfinals, thus avoiding the risk of meeting the Turkish sides.

“If my team would have to go play in Turkey, I would not send it,” Pedrini explained that she does not want to re-live the nightmare of Ankara from last season where Modena players closely experienced a terrorist attack.
