ITA M: Call Ngapeth for the win! Modena beat Trentino in tie-break thriller

Modena opened match much better, by winning the first set very quickly 25-15! Lorenzetti’s side had an answer in the second (25-19), but in the third we saw another good show from the home team (25-20).

In the fourth set, Trentino were leading all the time, having a few points more, but at the very end of the set home team managed to tie the score 23-23! After all, Trentino managed to  extend the game by winning next two points.

In the tie-break, Piazza’s side played with a great desire since the beginning of decisive part of the game. At the end, Modena won it – 15-8.

The Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth has finally played during the whole game and he had a great influence on his teammates. At the end, he scored 18, Vettori had the same number of the points while Holt added 11 and Le Roux 10. On the other side, five players had double digits Mazzone (12), Nelli (11), Lanza (11), Urnaut (10) and Gianelli (10).

Lube Civitanova have met Verona at the home court and instead of a difficult game they got an easy game actually. Giani’s side was not in the mood, as they surrendered only after three sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-22).

Osmany Juantorena was the best scorer with 16 points, while Tsvetan okolov added 12. On the other side, Uros Kovacevic had 15 and Mitar Djuric 12!

The team that created Trentino’s first defeat, Piacenza, have conquered Padova in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-23). Marshall and Hernandez had good displays, scoring 14 points each.
