FRIENDLIES M: Ravenna pushing Perugia to the limits, Zaytsev, Russell and Birarelli on a break

Sir Safety Conad Perugia and Bunge Ravenna held a friendly match in Forlì that served both teams to practice new tactical ideas before playing important games in the Italian Men’s volleyball Serie A1.

Perugia coach Lorenzo Bernardi rested Zaytsev, Russell and Birarelli, giving the chance to some other players that he did not use so often in previous part of the season.

The test ended with a five-set victory of Perugia and in the tie break played up to 25, partially 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-17. Austrian Alexander Berger scored 18 points for the winners while Puerto Rican Maurice Torres collected 35 for Ravenna.

This friendly served Perugia to prepare for Game 3 of the playoff semifinals against Diatec Trentino on April 9, while Ravenna competes in the playoffs for the 5th place.
