After three rounds of Serie A, the leader in the league classification has changed.
This has been a bad week for Rebecchi Nordmeccanica Piacenza. After losing the gold set with the Ukrainian Kontynium Volyn Lutsk in the CEV Cup and dropping out of the tournament, this time lost the first match in Serie A along with the lead in the league.
The starting lineup of the Foppapedretti Bergamo team, due to injury, lacked Jelena Blagojevic, replaced by Sara Klisura. Perfectly fared the duo Valentina Diouf – Chiara Di Iulio, who scored 30 and 24 points respectively. For Rebecchi Nordmeccanica Piacenza, Carmen Turlea gained 22 points with 28% efficiency in the attack, and Lucia Bosetti scored just one point below this result for the team.
The failure of Piacenza was well used by Asystel Mc Carnaghi Villa Cortese, which thanks to the 3:0 victory with Assicuratrice Milanese Volley Modena moved up to the first place in the standings. Despite closing the game in three sets, the game in all its parts was even and ended with the result (25:22, 25:22, 25:23). Villa Cortese won mainly due to improved efficiency of the block, which made it score 12 points (at 5 opponents).
The first win of the season was by Chateau D’Ax Urbino, who defeated Banca Reale Yoyogurt Giaveno at home 3-0. The games between Unendo Yamamay Busto Arsizio – Icos Crema (Bauer – MVP) and Imoco Volley Conegliano – Idea Volley 2002 Bologna ended with the same result. One set more was played in Turin, where the Duck Farm Chieri trio Ravetta (21 points – MVP), Sorokaite (22), and Piccinini (22) gave the Kgs Robursport Pesaro team no chance for a win.
