It was the match between the 2nd (Vibo Valentia) and the 11th team (Castellana Grotte) in the classification. Castellana outclassed Vibo and claimed a straight-set win. The best player on the court was Giulio Sabbi.

The best player on the court was Giulio Sabbi. He served great (only 1 personal ace, but several serious bombs from the 9th meter, which allowed his teammates to block) and spiked well, although on 25 ball he finished only 8 and his efficiency on the net was only 32% in the whole match. He added also 3 points in block. His trustworthy support was Alex Ferreira, who was chosen the MVP of the duel. He scored 12 points, including 1 ace, 1 block and 67% in attack. But the most important thing was that he gained points in difficult situations, helping the team succeed. On the center shined Victor Yosifov, who scored 9 points, including 4 blocks and 83% in attack.

The most salient number in the statistics is the efficiency in attack of Vibo Valentia. It’s 36%. Undoubtedly the guest team had problems with attack, they scored only 28 points on 77 spiked. Didn’t help Niels Klapwijk, who, much as he was the best player of Vibo on the court, he spiked with 47% efficiency.

Flavio Gulinelli, the head coach of BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte, said: “It was the first joy in front of our fans. We had to wait too long for it. We finally showed the game we piecemeal played in previous matches. Tonight worked very well the connection between block and defense. Also the players who entered on court as a substitution did their best to finish the set. This win cheered us up, but we achieved good effects working hard on trainings. If we work as we did till now, it will be only positive for us“.
