The second-seed Lube prevailed against No.3 Modena at home in Game 3 of the 2017/18 SuperLega playoff semifinals, which lasted two hours and 32 minutes, by a 3-2 (27-25, 33-35, 25-16, 22-25, 21-19).
The craziness of the match reflects in the second set that lasted for 41 minutes and in which Lube failed to convert as much as six set balls, while Modena converted their fifth! As for the tie-break, which was also intense, Lube made a 3-0 run at 18-19 to close the match (kill of Sokolov, an ace of Juantorena, and another kill of Sokolov).
Thus, Lube took a 2-1 lead in the series and need one more win to advance to the finals.
The Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov poured in 34 points (3 aces, 5 kill blocks) for Lube. The American Taylor Sander made 73% reception (30 digs, 2 errors, 53% perfect). The Slovenian Tine Urnaut scored 23 points for Modena. Earvin Ngapeth contributed with 21 points (4 aces and 75% reception – 28 digs, 2 errors, 32% perfect). Daniele Mazzone recorded 79% attack (11/14).

Also in the first set Modena had 24-21 but the libero was awful and got aced twice.
