The Osaka Marvelous and NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki have punched their tickets to the women’s Daido Life SV.League championship final after thrilling semifinal battles.
Both teams, leaders of the regular season, overcame tough semifinal series that stretched to third-game deciders. On Sunday, they each clinched dominant 3-0 victories to secure their spots in the final.
At Panasonic Arena, Osaka Marvelous, led by Kotona Hayashi’s 20 points, swept Denso Airybees Koriyama in straight sets (25-17, 25-20, 25-12). Captain Mizuki Tanaka added 16 points, while Belgian star Lise Van Hecke contributed 11.
Meanwhile, defending champions NEC Red Rockets rebounded from a Saturday loss with a commanding 3-0 win over Saga Hisamitsu Springs (25-23, 25-14, 25-15). Yoshino Sato led the attack with 20 points, supported by Brazilian opposite Lorrayna Marys with 15 points.
The championship series will kick off at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on May 2, with a best-of-three format to crown the 2024-2025 SV.League champions.
