The new Daido Life SV.League season opened with drama and surprises as Victorina Himeji handed defending champions Osaka Marvelous a rough start, winning both road matches to headline an action-packed opening weekend.

Victorina took the first clash 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21), led by Italian star Camilla Mingardi, who tallied 23 points. The following day, they edged Osaka again in a five-set battle 3-2 (17-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11), with Japan’s Airi Miyabe dominating for 31 points. Belgian opposite Lise Van Hecke led Osaka’s offense but couldn’t prevent the double defeat.
In other matches, NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki started strong with two straight-set wins over Hisamitsu Springs, while the Denso Airybees also swept Toray Arrows Shiga twice, led by Sabrina Machado and Yuki Noda.
The KUROBE Aqua Fairies impressed at home, defeating Okayama Seagulls twice behind Lena Stigrot’s 40-point weekend. Saitama Ageo Medics also picked up two hard-fought victories over PFU Blue Cats Ishikawa Kahoku, driven by captain Mami Uchiseto.
Astemo Rivale Ibaraki opened with consecutive four-set wins against Aranmare Yamagata, thanks to 51 total points from Mackenzie May. The only split results came between Queenseis Kariya and Gunma Green Wings, trading 3-1 victories led by Olivia Różański and Sofya Kuznetsova.
